IPR NEWS: Scoring the Indiana Legislature
A LONGTIME CONTRIBUTOR to the quarterly journal, Jason Arp, is interviewed today on Rob Kendall’s popular Indianapolis talk radio show. Here is a link to the interview.
Arp was asked to walk listeners through his new legislative web site, IndianaScorecard.org, an interactive system that allows users to see how legislators rank on 25 or so votes affecting private property. (Trigger warning: Some of you will be surprised at how low your “conservative” legislator scores.)
Some tips on how to use the scorecard:
- Click on the “My Legislators” tab and type in your address to link to your district legislator (House or Senate) for his or her votes and ranking.
- Click on the top of the district column under either the House or Senate tab to scroll down numerically to a particular district.
- Click on the top of the names column under either the House or Senate tab to scroll down alphabetically to a particular legislator.
A full analysis of the scorecard findings, which will be linked in the next few weeks to campaign finance reports, will be featured in the upcoming quarterly Indiana Policy Review.
