Sept. 12 Seminar: The Politics of Local Investment
HAVE YOU NOTICED that your elected representatives only pretend to care what you think? That your newspaper heralds one new economic development “investment” after another but nobody can find a better job?
The annual seminar is set for Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Sycamore Country Club in Terre Haute. We will be taking a close look at changes in community investment strategies (crony capitalism, corporatism) and how that has affected the local democratic processes (political machines).
Please consider making a fully tax-deductible gift in support. Your help with podium fees is greatly needed. These donations (whatever amount) can be sent directly to the foundation by check addressed to: The IPR, PO Box 5166, Fort Wayne, IN 46895; or via PayPal to director@inpolicy.org.
Seminar tickets ($25) for guests and yourself are available here. These are not tax-deductible and cover only the cost of the lunch and beverages.
Dr. Eric Schansberg and Ryan Cummins will lead a session on “What Doesn’t Work” and Fort Wayne Councilman Jason Arp and Craig Ladwig will lead a session on “What Does Work.”
We look forward to seeing you in Terre Haute.
